General Membership
At Martlet Fund McGill, we believe investing knowledge shouldn’t be gatekept. Our General Membership track is designed for curious, ambitious students who want exposure to real hedge fund strategy, without needing technical experience or an application. From live pitch sessions to educational workshops and interactive discussions, general members gain meaningful access to how real funds think, operate, and perform. Whether you're new to markets or exploring a future in finance, this is your entry point.

Learning Opportunities
Members can attend three sessions per strategy team each semester. During these sessions, Analysts present recent trades, performance, and insights. Members have flexibility in how they participate: you can follow a single strategy closely, attend multiple strategies to broaden your perspective, or join all sessions across teams. In addition, all members are added to a dedicated Teams channel, where the Presidents provide guidance, answer questions, and share resources. These opportunities allow members to engage directly with leadership, deepen their understanding of investment strategies, and see how professional investors approach real-world decisions.
Competitions & Member Events
Martlet Fund will host both internal analyst competitions and exclusive member-facing events designed to bring everyone into the action. As a general member, you’ll have opportunities to compete in simplified stock pitch challenges, investment simulations, and networking nights with alumni and finance professionals. These events are designed to be both educational and collaborative, helping you apply what you learn in a low-pressure, high-growth environment. It’s the perfect space to test your ideas, showcase your thinking, and meet others on the same path.
Mock Interviews & Recruiting Resources
Finance recruiting can be competitive, but we’re here to help you navigate it. General members gain access to past interview questions, technical prep materials, and mock interview sessions hosted by senior students who’ve successfully recruited at top firms. This is your chance to learn from people just a few steps ahead of you, people who know exactly what it takes to break into the industry.
